Vinaigrette Bracelets

I saw this bracelet on Antiques Roadshow (which was valued at $6,000!) the other day and thought it was really pretty. I looked up some information and found out that it was called a vinaigrette bracelet. I'd never heard of them before then. Vinaigrette bracelets were made in the 1800s in Switzerland. The bracelets featured stones called foil backs, which means they had colored foil put behind them to even out the color amongst the stones. During this era, it was hard to find stones that matched in color.

Women wore these because they had a little compartment that opened, and due to dirty streets and smells, they would put a perfume or some other lovely scent in the compartment so that they could smell it. Pretty neat stuff, if you ask me!

Scarves

I love scarves, so I wanted to see the history of them. I didn't know they were so old, and it was so neat to see that people were wearing them all the way back in 1350 B.C. I love all the patterns and colors of scarves. I collect them and always look forward to adding more to my growing collection!
