Ray Harryhausen

I don't really think Ray Harryhausen needs to be described. Everyone knows that he was a special effects creator, writer and producer. Just a few months ago, I watched She on DVD and Ray was talking about how much he loved that movie, just his love of the musical score, and how he hoped the younger generation would find an appreciation for it. Ray was born in Los Angeles. At thirteen, he had seen King Kong and this was the movie that ultimately inspired him to chose the career he obviously loved. Numerous movies and a couple books have paid homage to Ray Harryhausen. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is in the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. Although he passed away on May 7, 2013, his legacy will live on forever in the eyes of movie lovers the world over.
