Classic Games

As you can tell from the title, this post is about classic games. Vintage games were something to look at. I mean, the artistic beauty was something all in itself. Although board games are still made today, it seems they just don't have the personality of the old ones.

1. In the 1870s, puzzles became more intricate than earlier ones, thanks to the scroll saw. This puzzle is a Milton Bradley model. 2. Spelling slips were designed to improve a child's reading skills. This collection only cost thirty cents when it was first sold in 1890. 3. In 1887, yacht racing was popular. This game depicts the course used by the still-thriving New York yacht club.. 4. Most card decks emphasized the pairing of images. This Black Cat Fortune Telling Game catered to those with a fascination for tarot. 5. Animal 10 Pins was a Milton Bradley bowling game which, in my opinion, featured some very well-dressed critters. 6. Every major Victorian-era toy manufacturer sold some version of Fish Pond. This version used tiny rods with hooks to catch the fish.
