Back in the day, television sets were something to look at. They were unique, and beautiful. I imagine it's just like with anything else...back then, people didn't think anything of the things they had and what they looked like. They were used to them. Now, when you look at pictures of old sets and see the way they were built and the character of them, it's hard not to wish you had an old t.v. set.
In the 50's having a television was something special. We did appreciate what we had and style meant a lot. Of course we could only afford the simple box set. But we did get 3 channels! In the lat 50's in Florida we only got 2 network channels but we had 2 UHF channels, as long as someone was willing to go outside and turn the antenna. Today if you can't watch a live stream on your smart phone you're upset. Thanks for starting this blog.
